Emily Kirchem is the designer behind Edie Kaye's custom gowns and wedding dresses

About Emily

I've been sewing since I was 7 - a neighbor gave me a bag of scraps, which became my first Barbie ball gowns.

I've been in business since 2009.

I have a BA from UT in business/French.

I have an AA from the Art Institute of Seattle in Fashion Design.

I love weddings.  I love that we celebrate the moment people begin a new part of their lives.

I love pretty things.

I love creating - gowns, collages, cookies, or my "famous" scrambled eggs.

I love a ball gown.  I'm not saying that a ball gown is always the answer, but there is something special about a skirt with a great twirl-factor.

I love reading.  Too much, probably…  Of particular interest are fairy tales - I could have minored in fairy tales, I wrote so many papers about them.  It's the history, the adventure and hope, the romance - I get inspired.

I love Paris and all of France.  The country holds a special place in my personal coming-of-age story, not to mention my obsession with fashion and beauty in the world.

I love running.

I love my family.

I love Nick, my person.

I love the whole process of making a gown from the design and the construction to the packaging.

And I would love to work with you.

Cheers!
